Missing boy found dead in well

ISLAMABAD, Dec 22: The body of a teenage boy who went missing on Tuesday was found in a well in Alipur Farash in the limits of Shahzad Town police on Wednesday.
Fifteen-year-old Mohammad Qasim was last seen by his brother Waseem outside their house Tuesday evening when the latter was going to see some relatives.
However, when he did not return home till night, the family got suspicious and started searching for him.
On Wednesday, some villagers spotted the boy’s slippers near a well. They dived into the water and found the body. Later, the body was fished out and the police shifted it to hospital for autopsy.
The police said according to the autopsy the boy was subjected to severe torture. He bore three fractures on the head. The killer(s) had struck several blows on his head with a blunt weapon which claimed his life, it added.
The victim left studies some five years back after completion of grade five due to financial constraints in the family. His father was a painter but remained bedridden due to illness.
The victim’s brother, Mohammad Waseem, while talking to Dawn said: “We are labourers and have no enmity with anyone. We went to the house of our aunt to offer condolence on the death of her husband in Karachi, leaving Qasim at home,” he added.
He said when they returned home, Qasim was missing.
Meanwhile, a girl was found murdered near Korang Nullah at Margalla Town. Some passersby spotted the body and informed the police who shifted it to hospital.
The victim seemed to be in her mid-20s. She was subjected to torture and shot in the back of the head.
It was suspected that she was murdered somewhere else and the killers brought the body to the Nullah to dump it there last night.
