Plea against online registration disposed of

RAWALPINDI, Dec 22: Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench on Wednesday disposed of a petition challenging online registration of students with the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) after the education officials assured the court that all problems being faced by the students would be removed.
Dr Majid Naeem, the project manager of the online system, along with BISE chairman Chaudhry Abdul Aziz appeared before Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh and made the assurance. They said all necessary steps would be taken to make the system successful. While disposing of the petition filed by Private Schools Association, the judge observed that if necessary steps were not taken the petitioner could move contempt of court proceedings against the education officials.
The petitioner through Advocate Raila Saleem Suboohi had maintained that the problem was severe for the students in rural areas where there was no internet facility and the candidates had to come to urban areas where they were unable to access the system.
The online registration for the examination has started on December 13 which will continue till January 8 with a normal fee. But the candidates have been unable to download the admission forms making it difficult for them to meet the deadline, the petitioner said, challenging the notification of the higher education department in this regard.
