Nation pays homage to Quaid today

ISLAMABAD, Dec 24: The nation celebrates the 135th birth anniversary of Quaid-iAzam Mohammad Ali Jinnah on Saturday (today) with reverence and solemnity.
Functions will be held all over the country to pay homage to the father of the nation and to highlight his achievements and principles. Special prayers will be held in mosques for the prosperity and progress of the country.
The main event of the day will take place at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi with the change of guard.
The Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) and the Ministry of Culture will hold cultural programmes in the federal and provincial capitals to mark the day.
Special supplement Dawn publishes a special supplement on the Quaid’s birth anniversary.
The eight-page supplement carries articles by eminent writers, including I.A. Rehman, Liaquat H. Merchant, Dr Mehdi Hasan, Sharif-alMujahid, Prof (Dr) Musarrat Hussain and Dr Noman Ahmed.
